According to the CDC, Coronavirus Diseasee 2019 (COVID-19), is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation. The CDC is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and which has now been detected in almost 70 locations internationally, including in the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).
THE SCHOOL BOARD OF GADSDEN will take guidance from collaboration with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to monitor COVID-19 and actively work to ensure that the most up-to-date CDC guidance is quickly and accurately disseminated.
THE SCHOOL BOARD OF GADSDEN ask EVERYONE to do their part and continue to practice good hygiene! We are in close communication to our local and state emergency management teams to stay abreast of what is going on, as well as, follow the expert advice and guidelines to stop the spread of the virus. Again, let’s all do our part to be proactive and not reactive so that we can continue to maintain a calm learning environment without PANIC for our students and staff, thus minimizing their fear.
We urge parents, students and staff to PLEASE not come to the schools if feeling sick.
