ESE Parent Survey
The Florida Department of Education is working with school districts to gather information on how well parents think their child's school is partnering with parents of students with disabilities, and would like to include your input. Your responses will help guide efforts to improve services and results for children and families.
This survey is for parents of students with individual educational plans (IEP) receiving special education services during the 2019-2020 school year. All information provided will remain confidential. You may submit one online survey for each child receiving services.

A Parent’s Guide to Access Points, Access Courses, and Resources
This guide contains an overview of some of the resources available at www.floridastandards.org for parents of a student with a significant cognitive disability. These include the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards Access Points, available instructional resources, and access courses.

Alternate Assessment
All Florida students participate in the state’s assessment and accountability system. The Florida Alternate Assessment is designed for students whose participation in the general statewide assessment is not appropriate even with accommodations.

procedural safeguards, are intended to ensure that you have the opportunity to be a partner in the educational decisions made regarding your child.

High School Diploma Options for Students with Disabilities: What Parents Need to Know
This pamphlet provides information about the various diplomas and certificates of completion. It describes requirements students must meet and the opportunities for post-school education or employment typically available to students with each type of diploma or certificate of completion. The back page describes the GED Exit Option Model, which is available only to students who are at least 18 years old. The back page also includes a chart that shows the differences in post-school opportunities offered by each type of diploma or certificate of completion.
